Worldwide 25 million people have cancer and 10 million die from it each year. As a fact, cancer is the second leading cause of mortality worldwide. There is a growing focus on cancer diagnosis because accurate and timely detection of disease means a better chance for patient survival and lower treatment costs. Furthermore, predicting the right therapy for cancer patients is key for their chances of survival.

The vision of ProteoMediX for enabling personalized medicine is to first develop diagnostic tests to detect and assess the prognosis for the disease and second to identify biomarkers that allow to match patients with therapies that are more likely to be safe and effective.
